Venkatraman Ramakrishnan - 7th Indian to get Nobel Prize

Check the biography of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan on Wikipeida. He is a structural biologist who has been awarded Nobel Prize in Chemistry along with Thomas A. Steitz and Ada Zonath.

(Nobel Prize, Nobel Prize organization and United Nations are two such topics which have regularly given questions in Prelims GS. That means 150-2=148. Got it)

Anti-social behaviour - A Concept: First here: Random

Anti-Social Behaviour: Well it is a concept for Sociology and Psychology. It is categorised as such by the Wikipedia editors. For this blog, I believe that it is the first 'Concept' to be reached through Random article. I am not sure how I reached this article. I was actually doing my own work and had left the computer. When I again accessed the computer, I found it here. Generally in between my reading and writing I give gaps, a type of recess, a type of rest to self. It is then that I open news boards, newspapers and Wikipedia. It generally happens that I do not care to check out that on which sheet what result has appeared as my ultimate task is something else. Anyhow, I was soon attracted towards it.

For we teachers in the social sciences, concept are very vital. For the common man, they convey some meaning but for the scholars in the field of knowledge, they have a specific meaning as they are the terminology in which the scholars deal the knowledge in their field. Hence, this article qualifies to be on this blog.

From the discussion, which is presently very less, it seems that it is a product of the editorial team itself who have used Wikitionary to write this concept. No doubt, it lacks a peculiar content standard.

On the other hand, it has given me new meanings also. Anti-Social as a concept is mainly a sociology concept. In sociology, the anomaly group activities and harming activities are seriously studied. However, herein some new dimensions, like the activities on internet have been suggested. Further, they have also covered it under a third category about which I was not aware and that is Law and here especially UK law.

There is need to improving the content standard of this article.
